F1 2012 MP Co-Op Practice?

My mate and i like playing online in the Co-Op Championship mode.
But the ONLY way we we can like practice together is running the full Championship with all the bells and whistles

Or we practice offline

So is there a way we can practice together online? Runs some laps come back in adjust setups etc with NO time constarnts?
If not than WHY not? It seems they really have GUTTED the MP aspect of the game

can you not just setup an online custom gp, choose the settings, make it private invite only - then invite your friend? in f1 2011 you did this through "online/multiplayer" then "custom race".

Why can't you use the practice session in co op? When time is running out save your setup exit and restart. 1 hr should be enough anyway should it not mate?
