Looking for a laptop!

Hi Guys,

Im looking to buy a laptop to use around the house for msn, facebook and using the internet and the occasional play of games! Just wondering what a good laptop would be! Im looking to spend around £200-£300 and am thinking of buying one second hand! Just need some help and advice on what laptop and what sort of price i should be paying ?

I am wondering the same as i am planning to buy one for my dad. So he doesnt need to use that old computer anymore.

I mean games that dont need a huge amount of graphics like Football Manager and age of empiers maybe! But that isnt a must just an extra because il be keeping the desktop because of my G25 and GTRevo etc

hhmmm...I think you will get better a new one around 400

because your budget is more to use the Intel atom processor

Laptops arent normally built for gaming. Especially those in your price range. You might get away with some games that are not processer and graphic hungry like some are though. Maybe something like this - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Toshiba-Equ...?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1262618861&sr=1-94 But you will need to get rid of Vista and install either XP or Windows 7. Vista will eat alot of resources and not leave much for any games you might run.

i was thinking about it today and i was thinking that i dont really need it for games at all! ive already got and xbox360 a PC and a psp! lol so no need!

and the question is. do you want a laptop with a 15" screen or do you prefer something light with a 10"screen...if it is the latter....then why not a nettop?

for me what Nick posted, I would then prefer to go with a nettop. same processor power that uses way less power....and still good to watch movies (not HD movies though...that is pushing to much unless it is a Ion graphics card)

Now your not after games, then the link i posted will be overkill for what you need. A Netbook might be perfect then for what you need. Its light, portable, small and is designed just for browsing the net, checking emails etc.. Although for movies then I'd go for a larger screen so you can actually see the movie

I have been looking around, but don't know if this is the cheapest site for laptop/nettop/pc.
