how many game controllers?? ( max seems to be 4)

i have a bit of a problem.
I guess i have to much game controlers then the game ( race-on) can reckonise.
I have had no problems with:

Keyboard + steeringwheel ( fanatec ) + A1 pro pedal + Sli-M

But i have just bought a buttonbox, and it won't work.
In windows (7, 64bit) the controller of the buttonbox workf perfect, but ingame
i won't see it.

If i won't put the steeringwheel ( for exemple) in, the controller of the buttons box is seen and works in game.

So i guess, the limited amount of controllers is 4.
Is there a smart work-around or sollution for my problem?

The max might actually be 2 (Joy1 -wheel & Joy2 - pedals) can you map your button box as keyboard buttons?

Max is 3 game controllers + keyboard. So 4 inputs total.
