How do you adjust the gearing ?

Maybe a dumb question, but I don't see it.
When I open the settings by clicking on the wrench icon and go to gearing, I only see the status but no options to change anything. Am I overlooking something ?

Some cars simply do not have adjustable gears

^ What he said. If a car has adjustable gears you'll see the adjustment controls in that screen, but if it doesn't then you'll just see what the gears are and won't be able to adjust them.
