First footage of Formula 1 from drivers Point of view

Discussion in 'Formula 1' started by Kennett Ylitalo, Oct 25, 2011.

  1. Quote from Lucas DiGrassi: "I had to drive with only one eye open as the camera was blocking my other eye, quite tricky"

EDIT: And i just read that Kimi IS coming back to F1. He's given an exclusive interview to F1 Racing magazine, i'll bet we'll hear more next weekend..
  2. This is near perfect. The camera needs to be a few millimetres lower because it doesn't show what is directly behind the far in the mirrors, only the rear wheel.

Enough nitpicking, compared to all the other first person F1 cameras, this is the best.

If you read the article again, it doesn't say at any point that he's definitely coming back.
It says he's interested in coming back and is waiting to see what will happen.

Nothing is definite until it happens.
  4. The steering wheel movement is quite large, don't usually see hands crossing in F1. That was only an installation lap anyway but looks funny.

    Woohow! I'm so jealous T_T

I hope in future these will be regular cams in live broadcasts, hard for the driver tough, but technology finds a way always :)
  6. Not really point of View but still good fun and in the race also.

  7. Good find Ivo, i heard that they have those cams tested in GP2 and hoped someone finds the footage.
  8. The real thing is better than the vid trust me :p.
