Back in March we asked you fifteen questions regarding the then upcoming Formula One season and we had some fairly surprising answers which shows that the sport may not be quite as predictable as some would have you believe.

  • Who will win the Drivers Championship?
    • Nico Rosberg - 21% of readers predicted correctly.
  • Which team will win the Constructors Championship?
    • Mercedes - 89% of readers predicted correctly.
  • The top 3 drivers in the Drivers Championship will be...
    • Nico Rosberg, Lewis Hamilton, Daniel Ricciardo - 0% of readers predicted correctly.
  • Who will out-qualify their team mate the most?
    • Valtteri Bottas (17-4) - 0% of readers predicted correctly.
  • Will Haas F1 score any podiums?
    • No - 89% of readers predicted correctly.
  • Max Verstappen or Carlos Sainz Jr.?
    • Not applicable due to Verstappen's promotion, however 77% voted Verstappen and 23% voted Sainz Jr.
  • Will Manor F1 score points (If "yes", how many)?
    • Yes (1 point) - 65% of readers predicted Manor would score points, however of those, only 14% correctly guessed the single point.
  • Which drivers will win a race?
    • Lewis Hamilton - 96% of readers predicted correctly.
    • Nico Rosberg - 100% of readers predicted correctly.
    • Max Verstappen - 7% of readers predicted correctly.

    • However 0% of readers predicted that only these four would win GP's.
  • Which teams will win a race?
    • Mercedes - 98% of readers predicted correctly.
    • Red Bull - 45% of readers predicted correctly.
  • What will be the biggest controversy of the season?
    • Too subjective, however honorable mentions go to:
      • The shock retirement of Nico Rosberg.
      • Max Verstappen taking Daniil Kvyat's place at Red Bull.
      • Mercedes crashes in Spain and Austria.
      • Radio ban and subsequent un-banning.
      • Max Verstappen's defensive driving leading to 'The Verstappen Rule', and,
      • Sebastian Vettel telling Charlie Whiting to "F*** OFF!!!" over team radio.
  • How many cars will finish in Australia?
    • Sixteen - 25% of readers predicted correctly.
  • Who will take the most pole positions?
    • Lewis Hamilton (12) - 44% of readers predicted correctly.
  • Which race will be the best of the year?
    • As with the controversy question, it's too subjective, however honorable mentions go to:
      • Spain
      • Monaco
      • Austria
      • Brazil and,
      • Abu Dhabi
  • How many points will McLaren-Honda score?

Did this season unfold as you thought it might? Do you think next season will be more, or less predictable? Leave your thoughts below!

Who the hell didn't think Lewis would win a race, that I am curious.
Some people didn't think things through very carefully as they'd vote Rosberg to win a race, but then leave Mercedes out of the teams who would win one. :O_o:
