F1 wheel with display issues

Question for those with a diy F1 style wheel with a built in display... I bought a new Sim Display LCD unit attached to a new F1 wheel I made. Everything works great on it. But I was hoping to be able to alternate to a rally wheel or regular GT3 wheel on the fly with a quick connect. When I do this, Windows sees the change in the number of displays and goes a bit wonky as I have a touchscreen too. Also the SLI Max software throws an error when the SIM Display is not hooked up. Any comments from people that have a built in display to a wheel? Am I just trying to do too many things with the quick disconnect on the fly? Do you just have to exit the game and manually change everything around and configure each time?
