Watch the race of the fourth DTM weekend from the EuroSpeedway Lausitzring live from Germany today.

The battle of the three German premier touring car brands continues today at 11:30 GMT (13:30 CET) with race four of the season at the EuroSpeedway Lausitz in Brandenburg in the eastern part of Germany. Since 2000 the venue has been host to the annual DTM racing event.

Yesterday during qualification it was a a premiere for Christian Vietoris. For the first time in his career, the Mercedes-Benz driver claimed a pole position in what was a qualification with a lots action on and off the race track. Fellow Mercedes pilot Gary Paffett will be lining up next to Vietoris on the front row.

After the qualification it became clear that a large part of the BMW teams had committed an infringement of the parc fermé regulations when they carried out work on the cars that wasn’t included in the list of admitted activities. This results in a relegation on the starting grid for Marco Wittmann, Joey Hand, Andy Priaulx and Martin Tomczyk. Brazils BMW ace Augusto Farfus already received a five spot penalty after using a set of tyres that wasn’t allocated to his car in free practice on Saturday morning, he will be dropped five places.

The last BMW to be penalized was ex-Formula 1 driver Timo Glock who was relegated because he had obstructed our fellow RaceDepartment sim racer and DTM rookie Daniel Juncadella at the exit of the pit lane during qualifying.
