F1 2010 Confused with toe!

F1 2010 The Game (Codemasters)
I'm confused with how TOE is presented. From my understanding "toe-in" means that the leading (forward) surface of the wheel points inward, towards the center axis of the car. "Toe-out", vice versa. However, on the adjustment screen, the greatest value (.50) is closer to the "in" increment. The least value (.02 i think) is closer to the "out" increment. If the wheels point out (away from the center of the car, having a lesser value) the car should be more responsive. If they point in (having a greater value) it should be less responsive. But the caption about "toe" in the game says that having the greater value makes the car more responsive, meaning they point "in". Which is it? I must be wrong. The car feels more responsive with the greater value but it looks like they point "in". Can you straighten me out?
