can't load custom some tracks, sometimes

Downloaded some custom tracks, initially seemed to work. Couldn't run some variations of the same track, now can't run any variation of it (while I definately raced on 1 variation already).
It just returns to the menu again, no error.

What's going on ?

At first impression, I'd say you're trying to make a Time Attack session.... and most modded tracks are not working with this kind of session.
Did you try in a normal practice or race session ?

Try the track/layouts in practice mode and see if they work there. Not every mod track has the configurations for Time Trial and not every track has AI lines for reces or pitlane AI lines for race weekends.

I think that is correct, the game mode seems to make the difference between running or not

First re-install Windows, then install AC in a clean way, then setup AC CM again, and then I'm trying my custom tracks.
My current AC is dirty, presumingly
