Can ETS 2 be played with old graphic cards?

Discussion in 'Euro Truck Simulator 2' started by FROST John, Mar 8, 2013.

  1. I have a FX 5200 128 Mb and I can open the game,create a profile,select the starting city but while it's loading at the middle of the loading bar it gives me an error :( It happens both my original game and my friend's copy game. What's the matter with it?

    Cheers;
    John...

  2. Minimum System Requirements
    • Windows XP/Vista/7/8, Dual core CPU 2.4 GHz
    • 2 GB RAM, graphics card with 256 MB memory
    • (GeForce 7600 GT-class equivalent or better)
    Recommended System Requirements
    • Windows 7/8, Dual core CPU 3.0 GHz
    • 4 GB RAM, graphics card with 1024 MB memory
    • (GeForce GTS 450-class equivalent or better)

  3. I know them.But my question is;
    Why can it start the game until the loading bar?I think it must have given an error at the beginning...

    The game is trying to initialise the game engine at that point. Since your card doesn't have some of the features the engine uses (pixelshader 3.0, HDR, deferred rendering and so on) it will kick you out. There is however one option you might want to investigate; try running the game in opengl mode. Go to start menu ->Eurotrucksim2->troubleshooting and run the game from the OpenGL shortcut.
    Hope you can get it to work.

  5. Thanks,I'll try...

    Well, I hate to dissappoint you then but it seems your vid card is just too limited in it's capabilities. Hopefully you will be playing this game soon though...cheers
