Camera used for recording

Hi everyone.. I would like to know what kind/type of camera you use for recording actual gameplay(not in-game). I've been browsing online but most they talk about was the software part. I put the camera behind me a bit on the left/right side just like in youtube videos. I have used pseye, logitech 920, and my old canon minidv. With pseye although a bit blurry, could get the colors of the game in my monitors(triples) and the rest of my rig. Logitech C920 could also get the colors on the monitors after a few adjustments but the rest is dark especially from wheel down. With the old canon, the monitors are coming out too bright no matter how I adjust the settings. I adjust colors and brightness thru nvidia.
