SPA FRANCORCHAMPS

Hello guys,

this will be the first race of the seasson, so please read carefully next briefing and if you have any question make a post in the thread in order to get an answer. This seasson we will not have Team Speak briefing but I will be in the race direction room at Team Speak and you can contact me there for any doubt you have.

1.- RACE ALLOCATIONS
Remember you have to place your team allocations in the STC Main Site. If you don´t do it you will lose the right to set a qualyfication time in the race.

2.- TEAM SPEAK
Team Speak is mandatory, and a driver not on team speak without a justification couldn´t be allowed to join the event.

3.- CHAT
Chat is forbiden during all the event, but you have to keep it enabled and visible in car to read Race Control Messages. **

4.- WARM UP LAP
Formation lap will be done in a pace around 90 kmts/h.

It is really important you keep a constant distance with the car infront and the car behind, so no brake or acceleration test will be done.

WE DON´t WANT TRAFFIC JAMS, SO TAKE CARE OF WHERE THE CAR INFRONT OF YOU IS ALL THE TIME!

- It will be a single file rolling start.

- Stay quiet until you read on chat "STARTING WARM UP LAP", then Safety car will turn lights on and the lap will start. A car will start moving after the car infront start the lap, and never before.

- When starting the formation lap, remember you will loose a position with the safety car, so take care of being in your position and always take care of knowing what car you have to follow.

- The complete lap will be done in the same pace. Some messages will be seen in chat saying "Keep your pace & formation".

- IMPORTANT Even with the safety car on track, it will be the leader of the group responsability to have a constant pace, so if the Safety Car accelerates going back to pit, the leader of the group have to keep a 90 kmts/h speed. As seen in previous races, Safety Car can be disconected so it is important leaders knows his role in the formation lap.

- Then when reaching the start/finish line Race Control will give Green Flag or Red Flag via chat, depending if the formation of the group is correct or if there where incidents in the formation lap.

- No overtaking will be done before crosing the start finish line, even if the Green Light is ON. The cars behind the leader will consider race started once the last turn is completed.

- With the GREEN LIGHT message from race direction you have to start accelerating and racing in race pace even if you can´t overtake before the start/finish line.

5.- ESCAPE KEY
Remember you can press ESC key, but never with traffic or in the racing surface. Be sure you are completely alone when hitting ESC.

6.- SUPER POLE
In Super Pole mode Qualifying, you have to complete the Out Lap, Qualy Lap and In Lap.

7.- SPEED LIMIT @ PIT LANE

Respect the speed limit at pit lane in all sessions.
Remember, in order to avoid problems, to call your pit crew before entering pits during the race.

8.- WEATHER
Remember to check the weather forectas on website (...it is already updated...) to have a close idea of how it will be in the future event. But the most important, check the session info into the sim or in the Pit Wall to take a direct look to the tarmac and know exactly in what conditions it is.

9.- TYRES & ENGINE
Remember we have 4 diferent compunds this seasson, Hard, Soft and Super Soft. Remember aswell the engine file was updated in the version 3.0 of the MOD and it is more sensible to agressive downshifting.

10.- BRAKES
Remember the Doran brakes are not an F1 brakes and specially when they are cold it is dificult to stop the car in the correct place, so TAKE IT EASY ON THE FIRST LAPS as you can have a bad accident because of that.

11.- INCIDENTS & INCIDENT REPORTS
Remember: Whatever happen on track you don´t have to wait for another driver, it can only bring more risk and more incidents. No chat will be allowed, and neither in this case, just wait for the end of the race and then make the incident report.

At the end of the race, on next day you can make an official Incident Report in the STC Main Site. Remember you have to grant a video with the incident. Remember aswell ALL THE TEAM SPOKESMAN HAVE TO VOTE in the Incident Investigation thread at the WAR Forum.

Thanks for reading!!

I have some questions:

What room should I join in TS before and during the race? I mean stay in my team's room or go where? And should I say something or just to be there?

Does that mean if I see green flag and I am let's say car number 18 in the grid, I cant overtake until I crossing the start finish line, or just start overtake with the green.

If all the cars finish there HL before the qualifying session ends are you gona end the session early and go to the warm up session or will wait until the qualifying session time end?

Sorry for the noob questions

Best regards

I am answering you in the reply quote.

You have to be at your team´s room in order to comunicate with your teammates. My tip is to have always a non racing member of your team to help you and sort out any problem you have, so in the case you have some technicall problem he can come to the race direction channel and ask me for an extra formation lap, as an example. Your non racing mate can even tell you gaps from the live timing room at the STC site Pit Wall section.

Does that mean if I see green flag and I am let's say car number 18 in the grid, I cant overtake until I crossing the start finish line, or just start overtake with the green.
Yes you can´t overtake until the start/finish line but with the green flag massage you have to start driving in race pace, with some extra care until you cross the start/finish line.

We will wait until the session ends. Some work is going in the background and the broadcast guys will need these extra time to prepare things. My tip is, use thise time to go drinking simething and relax before the race. It is always good.

Sorry for the noob questions
No noob at all, it is good you ask such questions as others can have that doubts aswell

Best regards

The part about acellerating and racing at race pace when the green flag is displayed, even though you can't overtake.

Its confusing, I't doesnt really make sense, because its impossible to accelerate and race at race pace untill the car infront has.

I think a better explanation of the rule as it has been driven in previous races is.

"When the Green Flag message is diplayed, the race is live. Be prepared to make a good start, but remember no overtaking before the start/finish line."

Doesn't that make more sense? Its what actually happens, you are ready to go when the green flag is out, but you have to make sure your not running into the back of the car ahead.

Well in my eyes is the same Mike, both are fine. I said the race pace because I don´t want a car slowing down before reaching last corner, so once we have green flag you can go on race pace, but with a bit of extra care to not hit anyone.

Anyhow, the concept is easy.

It is fine Mike, any doubt have to be posted and we have to comment to grant everybody understand the idea. As I am a non native english speaker I can do mistakles very often so I really appreciate your questions.

OK guys, remember the session are representing diferent hours during the day, so as in rela life, qualyfing can be in the sunday morning and Race in the Sunday afternoon. This is why you have to expect diferent weather from session to session.

Remember to check your setup and tires everytime you go on track, aswell the track information.
