Are pneumatic pedals as reliable as those based on elastomers? (NT)

I have narrowed down my choices to the SRP GT-R (pneumatic) vs the Simtrecs ProPedal GT (elastomers). In both cases, it would be a 2-pedal set. Both models are excellent, extremelly well built and finished. In both cases I've heard good things of the after sales service, but it's always a risk to buy expensive hardware from companies that are not well stablished as, for instance, Heusinkveld if you expect support and spare parts for many years in the future.

Prices (including taxes and shipping):
SRP GT-R Black edition with red pads and heel rest (baseplate included) = 1184€
Simtrecs ProPedal GT + baseplate = 1270€

Pros of the SRP:
Located in Spain
More realistic brake feel
Color choices

Cons of the SRP:
Long term reliability of the pneumatics is unknown

Pros of the Simtrecs:
More customization possibilities
Bigger and sturdier
Elastomers are reliable

Cons of the Simtrecs:
Currently out of stock
Brake could be too hard and feel too similar to my Sprints

I am pretty sure you can make it as soft as you want with elastomers, and if using aftermarket spring kit even softer.

As brought up by Rasmus the functional difference between Heusinkveld Sprints and Simtrecs is the hydraulic damper that slows down the pedal stroke in compression and/or rebound.
The remaining differences are bling.
But they do look gorgeous.
(a friend of mine owns a small CNC business and I showed him the Simtrecs as
"Fräs Porno"/Milling Porn :p)

Without having the chance to actually trying them, it's hard to know how different the brake pedals will be (elastomers vs elastomers + hydraulic damper vs pneumatics). I understand the feeling is hard to describe. With my Sprints, I just feel rubber compressed. What I would really love in a simracing brake is that feeling you get from a road car when you press the brake like if you had stepped on a punctured soccer ball. Other aspects are easier to consider. For instance, the pedal faces are rubbish, flat, sharp and rusty. Also, the construction of the pedals, atlhough strong enough, sometimes doesn't inspire enough confidence to use them hard.

People are different.

I dig the industrial design, manufacture and testing of HSV and that they stand sqarely behind their pedals regardless how stupid you use them.

Am I tempted by the "Fräs Porno" ? hell yeah, they look gorgous"

Am I tempted enough to cough up 1200 €? Hell no!

It will always a personal decision on the wrong side of "deminishing returns"

Maybe sometime I´ll build my own hydraulic brake pdeal just because I can, maybe not.
Let´s talk again next year.

Well, I own Simtrecs, call me biased but as an ex owner of HE Pro, I can assure you the difference is not just a bling as you might think.

I like HE as a company and I like their products, but they cannot be forever selling the same stuff without improving or innovating, because they're not alone in the market. What would be the cost for them of substituing (or offering as an alternative) the uncomfortable and ugly pedal faces they have been selling for so many years? That only change would make their pedals look better, more desirable and the sales would increase.

purchase the SRP pedals
My pessimistic concern is those sensors and connectors sticking out at right angles
seem liable to damage.
