F1 2016 AI Difficulty and Mistakes

Have you ever known the answer to a question before you even have asked?

I'm wondering if anyone has any insight into how the drivers perform on each of the AI difficulties. For example, on Easy- drivers are more likely to brake earlier/later causing increased opportunity for collision? And where are those variables located?

The question then becomes, if AI difficulty is correlated to speed (and presumably speed for quicker lap pace), then how could we influence the likelihood of a mistake?
