Abandoned house with a story

Discussion in 'Off Topic' started by Morten Wernersen, May 17, 2013.

  1. I found the below article(link) quite interesting, it is about a guy which has a hobby of exploring abandoned places or houses in this case, normally we just see the pictures of the abandoned things and can only guess the story behind, but in this case he actually managed to find out the possible story as to why this house was abandoned, and who the people lived there were, quite an interesting read, it's 5 pages, it's best to read in chronically order.

Interesting reading indeed. I am quite interested in history, and stories like this is very interesting to read and try to figure out as we go :)

There was another island I read about a while back just off the coast of Japan which was owned by Mitsibishi, or at least the company that would become Mitsubishi, which has now been scanned by Google Earth & is ready to be explored in Street View...

I can understand 'ghost towns' in places like central Australia becoming what they are, but whole islands becoming abandoned whilst so relatively close geographically to such densely populated places has me stumped...
