3DSimEd won't work

Title explains all. I can't even click "New" without it giving me the Error Report of Death (EROD).
"3DSimEd has encountered a problem" etc etc.
Trial downloaded from 3DSimEd website.
I need this as I cannot use a BIK movie as a texture in Google SketchUp or BTB.
