this setup is impossible,the AI does 1:23.XXX on Legend for me,and i tried 1000 combinations of setups and my best time was 1:25.XXX and i was only on 18th...this game is F'd in the A
 
I've just used the quick configuration and set the car up for completely dry and only changed the wings (from 2 to 4) and fiddled around with the gears to rev out at the end of the main straight.

Managed to get a 1:25.457 on Primes but then it gets complicated.

Once I switch to Option I'm always a couple of tenths slower no matter what I try. If I try a different setup I'm going much slower (not even in the 1:25's anymore). The Option should be giving more grip but I'm not getting any. If anything I'm getting less grip and my top speed (310 with Primes) is also lower (308 on Option).

It's seriously frustrating seeing as the Option should give at least a second advantage. Now I've got no chance of beating Barichello with his low 25's/high 24's cruising around on his shiny Options making me look like a fool.

Anyone else having this problem?

1:38.918. Did this in in qualifying on the option tyre. On the hardest AI level, I was 19th 1.339 off Barachello and was 2.914 ahead of D'ambrosios' Virgin. TC Medium, ABS on, Auto gearbox. I think I hit 210 mph (338kph) with DRS open along the straight between turns 2 and 3 and I wasn't even bouncing off the limiter. When I did the race in career mode, I out ran the Mercedes in speed along all the straights.

Let me know if the set up is any good.

PS. Just did a short 3 lap race in a McLaren and did a 1:35.139 without KERS or DRS and a 1:34.319 with KERS and NO DRS and hit 208mph (335kph) without KERS or DRS.

This thread makes interesting reading and there's some impressive times too.

I'm running a setup with minor tweeks from Norbert's posted numbers and best was 1:25:602 in race after a 1:26:216 quali, so good signs that there's more to be trimmed from lap times.

Current career choice is Force India car.
 
Nice set up. Quite understerry but can just increase the front wing angle. Did this set up in an HRT in career mode. Did a 1:28.239 on the 12th lap on the prime tyre. Just a little tip. Open your DRS through turn 2 (left hander after turn 1) you may gain a tenth or 2.

Very good setup ! Just i change rear aéro 5. In difficile, my time with the prime tires is 1"24"960 :) Sorry, i'm french and i don't speak english very well... This forum is excellent ;) (time with Force india car)
