The Humble Bundle's Ultimate Racing Sim Bundle is Back

The Steam Summer Sale has come and gone, but sim racers looking to expand their libraries while spending less than usual get another chance to do so: The Ultimate Racing Sim Bundle by the Humble Bundle returns in its "Victory Lap" edition - and it comprises no less than seven titles while being extremely light on wallets.

The Ultimate Racing Sim Bundle was last on offer in late 2022, and it returns for a minimum price of 11,68€ - as always at The Humble Bundle, you can pay any amount you like above that to support a charity, which is Trees, Water & People this time. The organization aims to fight climate change and helps communities to protect their natural resources.

Like in late 2022, the Ultimate Racing Sim Bundle contains seven titles that make great additions to any sim racing library on Steam. While five of them are the base versions of their respective title, Assetto Corsa and NASCAR Heat 5 come as their Ultimate Editions including all DLC - an absolutely incredible value for your money as each title would only cost 1,67€ if rounded up when bought for the minimum price. Usually, all seven titles combined would set you back over 300€.

Assetto Corsa, Assetto Corsa Competizione, Automobilista 2 and rFactor 2 are part of the RaceDepartment Racing Club as well - so if you are a premium member, grabbing the bundle opens a few doors to take part in the events. The offer is valid until August 18th, 7am CEST.

A question, since I already have the AC Ultimate Edition, Rfactor 2 and Automobilista but not Automobilista 2, Heat 5 and the Drift 21, how do I proceed? Do I still pay the 11,68€ in my case?

Question to anyone who happens to see this- Would this be worth it just for AMS2, or should I wait for if/when it goes on sale on steam? I already have AC, ACC, rF2, and AMS1, and not really interested in Heat 5 or Drift21.

The only reason to wait if you want to leave room for refund. And I'd say with AMS2 it's a very good one, unless you've already tried their Demo and liked what you've seen.

well, cheapest recorded price for AMS2 according to steamdb is 11.07 €. The Humble pack ist 11.67 € I gifted the games I don't need to friends. That way I get new players to drive with. Win/win for me.

I had an itch for a good NASCAR game. OMG that's a rabbit hole to go down...
Still looking, actually - I've not found a NASCAR experience that is suitable for PC, Fanatec, and drives well. Not sure N05 is the answer, and I'd take advice from the learned here (doesn't have to be a dedicated game either).

I got this game way back in 2020 and . . . it's okay, it's fairly decent. Turning off ALL of the assists and cranking up the difficulty makes the driving a challenge. The AI will take different lines around the track which is cool. They will block and draft with you as well (depending on if they consider you a friend or rival). Other times they will slam into you like don't exist. And sometimes they will dive bomb each other. Or, you'll be drafting behind one for a couple of laps and their engine will go KA-BLAMMO right in front of you--scary as hell.

CONS: Setting up your FANTEC wheel will be a pain. Having a gamepad/controller will help you navigate through the menus much more effectively as you set your wheel up. Getting the FFB tuned in will require at least an hour of tweaking and testing. But once it's dialed in it feels pretty good.
More CONS: Setting up your car is much more detailed than in NASCAR '21. It's fairly close to ACC or rF2. But not quite. There are a ton of Set-up vids on YouTube. The setups will stay 'in place' for each particular vehicle (Truck, Infinity, Cup) for each particular track. But you WON'T be able to save more than one setup per car, per track. And you won't be able to transfer those setups from, say Career mode, to Quick Race and vice versa. For example, you have a setup for your Cup car at Daytona in Career Mode and you want to do a Quick Race at Dayton; there's no way to load that Daytona setup from Career mode. Yeah, it kinda stinks.
Not quite a CON: But you have no control of your car during cautions. You'll get a drop-down menu asking if you want to pit or stay out on the track.

I think that's it. I'm not currently engaging in any races with the game. I'd classify it as a solid Sim/Cade. Which can be fun. Now, is it worth $11 and change while getting a few other driving games . . . rF2, AMS2, ACC . . . YEAH.

Thanks! a solid bit of feedback. I actually have the game (must resist buying everything!), along with '03 and I think something from the distant past that's now abandonware and considered the best - albeit likely by the purists and I'm certainly not that.
I think my downfall is twofold - the controller thing for sure, I don't have one so this and a few other games become quite a challenge to navigate (close to unusable I'd say in some cases) and secondly, I couldn't set a NASCAR up if it saved me, which it would need to on the fast ovals....

But thanks! I might have to revisit, and of course now looking for controller button boxes!!!
