Rennsport Beta 1.7 Patch Notes: Physics Updates, UI Changes

If you have access to the Rennsport beta, you can open up the Epic Games Launcher and find a new title update available to download. The primary bit of content is the inclusion of the new Orchard Road Street Circuit.

The track was created by the Singaporean-based sim racing outfit Legion of Racers. For those interested in driving it but who do not have access to Rennsport, you can download the Assetto Corsa version of the track on RaceDepartment.

But for the lucky few who have Rennsport beta access keys, here are the other changes that have come in patch 1.7.

Other Changes

Physics updates are part of this patch. They aim to fix as an issue where cars would shake inexplicably when on the grid waiting for a race to begin, and a problem specifically with the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) where a certain setup change would make the car faster than it should be.

A league system has been implemented, more of which you can learn about on the official Rennsport website. There have also been fixes to the lighting across multiple tracks, which had suffered from stuttering before.

The user interface sees some changes, too. The Main Menu Layout, background images and the in-game loading screens have been refreshed compared to the previous iterations. Additionally, the devs are working on fixes to the UI during a rolling start and audio issues that the Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) has.

The yellow flag indicator blinking, car lights not working correctly and new content being hidden by filters, have also been amended. But perhaps most intriguingly, in-game credits have been added. It will be interesting to see how they work, if it will be like iRacing credits where you can earn them from racing in a certain number of races every season.

Also be on the lookout in your email inboxes. If you have previously signed up to get a beta access key, you may have received one during the latest drop. If you have not, though, give it a try by signing up here.

if they add triple screen, i might give this more hours for sure, currently trying to squinty at a single screen like a arcade game in forza is the thing holding me back for giving it more time, im sure they will get to it eventually.

2025 could see some attrition in the sim racing marketplace with newcomers
AC2
Rennsport
GT Revival

AC2 has a solid player base and loyalty from AC and ACC so is a likely winner.
GT Revival developers are not loved by everyone but they know how to sell racing games and make a profit and they have some interesting older cars in this sim.
Rennsport looks pretty weak.A heavy emphasis on Esports alienates most sim racers in my opinion. The majority of sim racers would rather spend their leisure time sim racing theirselves, watch real racing or watch a youtube sim racer review or entertain rather than watch top sim racers race in Esports. The numbers watching are tiny and the engagement on RD or social media on Esports topics is lame. The only thing of interest is the cheating.

Rennsport is already a better on track and online experience than pCARS 2...

Their marketing focus is esports... The game's focus is far more than that... Still got a long way to go but it's on a decent path...

I do agree that there will be some attrition over the coming years... As those who move to the latest eye candy parade make their choice of one of the new titles...

But that's most likely going to effect the current crop of eye candy games the most...

On top of that rF2 and Raceroom will have their devoted fans but will suffer loses from the new titles...

how is it a better online experience with a 12 car grid limit lol, papyrus sims from the mid90s could do better.

There's no constant warp and even when there is it doesn't effect every other car, track state is believably the same and it works more often then not...

The MP in the Madness engine craps out with less than 10 people too often... And the dedicated servers are a joke...

This sim isn't even publicly available? Why do we keep getting updates on it?
Quiet obvious, just updates about the development of the game, like for any other one, but as it is a closed beta, potential players need to be informed when an update is out.

About the game, I recently realized I had received a key for the first closed beta (which seemed more an alpha than.a beta) and I've been able to use it for the current version. I must admit the game is much better than what I was expecting, after all my readings and the videos I'd been watching for months.

The cars behave correctly, they are believable, and the FFB is weak and lacks something, but is not atrocious. It is definitely.not ready but it isn't a lot worse than most early access sims that now feel good after several years of updates. I may have had bad feelings about that project since its announcement but it would be unfair not to admit that some interesting and significant progress has been made.

In the presentation department, sounds have improved (watch videos), graphics are much better although still with more or less visible issues (bug with the DLSS), and the optimization is not there.

At the moment, there is no setup adjustment feature. Is it definitive to emphasise on the competitive aspect by giving the same car to all racers? Some may like the idea, as everybody compete with the same car, but I have doubts as this unique mandatory setup will fit the driving style of some competitors and absolutely not others' driving style, making the competition just unfair. Wait and see...

I am still not interested but I'll keep an eye on it, we never now it is already better than I expected.

Less than 2 pages about the update and we are already in the pcars2, raceroom and rfactor2 competition...
