Rennsport Beta 1.7 Patch Notes: Physics Updates, UI Changes

If you have access to the Rennsport beta, you can open up the Epic Games Launcher and find a new title update available to download. The primary bit of content is the inclusion of the new Orchard Road Street Circuit.

The track was created by the Singaporean-based sim racing outfit Legion of Racers. For those interested in driving it but who do not have access to Rennsport, you can download the Assetto Corsa version of the track on RaceDepartment.

But for the lucky few who have Rennsport beta access keys, here are the other changes that have come in patch 1.7.

Other Changes

Physics updates are part of this patch. They aim to fix as an issue where cars would shake inexplicably when on the grid waiting for a race to begin, and a problem specifically with the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) where a certain setup change would make the car faster than it should be.

A league system has been implemented, more of which you can learn about on the official Rennsport website. There have also been fixes to the lighting across multiple tracks, which had suffered from stuttering before.

The user interface sees some changes, too. The Main Menu Layout, background images and the in-game loading screens have been refreshed compared to the previous iterations. Additionally, the devs are working on fixes to the UI during a rolling start and audio issues that the Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) has.

The yellow flag indicator blinking, car lights not working correctly and new content being hidden by filters, have also been amended. But perhaps most intriguingly, in-game credits have been added. It will be interesting to see how they work, if it will be like iRacing credits where you can earn them from racing in a certain number of races every season.

Also be on the lookout in your email inboxes. If you have previously signed up to get a beta access key, you may have received one during the latest drop. If you have not, though, give it a try by signing up here.

What is this game?
How does this game fit in the grand scheme of sim racers?
I would say it's a bit early to the party. I would have been onboard with it hosting events if it was just for the year, and that seemed to be the case where it was estimated it would release in full this month. But alas, not the case.

Give it a while, you are not missing much.

Trying to gear up and take a slice of ACC action basically.

With the promise of NFT-style cars - that you can race and sell.

It's an interesting spin - as a casual racer, I understand that if I want a competitive car I can go onto a marketplace and buy a pre-tuned & skinned car that'll get me competitive.

Same with tracks, mod, and trade.

The reality of this is yet to be seen, but the closed beta was announced (publicly) to have its first community track added recently.

I think it's a bunch of hyperbole about basically adding DRM to mods, which may kill the game early on. We'll see.

Beyond that, yet another GT3 sim, which, for me at least...

have to say this update is changing my mind, the cars feel better and the stutter i was experiencing is gone.. taking the 992 around Hockenheim was a blast.
Ow nice combo you chose...
wait they only have some series and one track..then it was chosen by the sim you only clicked.
Jokes appart very slow development...in case they finish at the same time than ac2...oh oh

Given where it started when I first got a key it's come a long way... Works great on DX12 for me with this update and many little things have improved like the mirrors and sounds...

It still has a long way to go... It doesn't have car set ups and the tyres are a little bit meh... However it's in closed BETA for a reason...

Far too many are comparing it to titles that aren't in BETA, but perhaps should be with some of their flaws...

Now that it has more than just GT3s it's got some fun under the hood...

get on the discord and i'm sure you'll have a key if you ask. About a week ago the mods seemed to be giving away early access to anyone who asked. I did not get mine that way, I did the sign up in '22.
I have access to the beta, it's how I was able to get the images for the article.

Just because I have access to it does not render it not a shame that people still do not have access to it on a wider scale. I would not be one of those people who is like "hey I have access to it therefore anyone's else's complaints about not having access are invalid"

I will update once it has 2 very basic options that make the experience decent:
- RESTART option during pause
- Fix a design error when you hit PAUSE the car don't stop and goes to the wall

I don't see any comment anything like what you said... I was offering advice to those who don't yet have access to the beta and was telling them how to possibly get it...

Unless you're not talking about me and someone else.. if so than why did you quote me?

I meant nothing untoward by it? Sorry it came across that way.
