Rennsport Beta 1.6: What Is New In The Update?

A new update is here: Rennsport Beta 1.6 releases on November 24 – but what can sim racers expect, aside from a 15.000 new keys being sent out?

Common criticism about Rennsport focuses on the fact that it is still in Closed Beta and not everyone has access. But 15,000 new beta access keys are releasing with update 1.6. So if you signed up, check your inboxes - you may just be able to play Rennsport!

But of course, that is not all. Along with the key drop, there is an update with new features, new tracks and even a brand new car class.

Rennsport Beta 1.6: All Content

With the two final ESL R1 Fall Season’s online rounds came two new tracks. Road Atlanta – home of Petit Le Mans – and the Daytona Road Course, both icons in American sportscar racing. Both will be available in this new update, potentially with Daytona in its pure speedway configuration.

A causality of Daytona’s inclusion though is the lack of an appropriate area for standings starts. You can do that at Daytona, unfortunately it is not ideal and you just end up with not so great traction whilst stationary on the banking. So as a result of that, rolling starts have been added to Rennsport.

Also with this update are two brand new additions in the shape of TCR cars. We knew two were being added, but not which ones exactly yet. Until now: The Audi RS 3 LMS and Hyundai Elantra N TC, both of which are front-wheel drive and also in iRacing, are new to Rennsport.

Both cars compete in the TCR World Tour, with this year’s champion Norbert Michelisz driving an Elantra. 2012 World Touring Car champion Robert Huff raced an RS 3 and ended up third in the final standings.

All of this plus updated physics are available in the latest update to Rennsport.

When will the update release?

At the time of writing, the ESL R1 Fall Major’s Group Stages are ongoing. The final race is set to wrap up before 18:30 CET, so that is perhaps the most likely time for the update to be available on the Epic Game Store.

Plus, if you want to quickly snag a key code, they are displayed on the broadcast. So head over to the ESL R1 Twitch and YouTube streams to try and quickly redeem a code in record time. Have the Epic launcher open if you do not want to be beaten to the code being redeemed!

I hope they did some major work on the physics of the car (suspension, tires, an other parts). Will try it later on. I still have some hope for this title.

"The rear-wheel drive Audi RS 3 LMS and the front-wheel drive Hyundai Elantra N TC"
There is no such a thing as a TCR rear wheel drive.

Great to see TCRs as an option!

one has to admit that the tracks look gorgeous. as @Mitja Bonca , I am still hopeful. Maybe in about a year this will be a complete title with a good online environment, the title which will have to move over will be, I guess, RRE.

Both tracks are a bit exaggerated on the level of grunginess applied to the road and grass... The grass really looks like its never been looked after.

Daytona also needs new bus stop kerbs, surprised they are using something pre-2021 specs...

Damn I wanted those TCRs to be good but they are not... Except graphics...

I read the changelog this morning, noted a few things missing that are important to me then found a lot of the discourse around a closed BETA a bit off putting... There just seems to be very little patience for this title right now...

I guess I think differently to most people...

Sure I wanted it to be further along when it first dropped, but I've accepted we are in for a long journey... Could be good and it could be on another engine that has problems in it that lasts it's lifespan... No one knows yet...

All we know for the moment is that it isn't finished or even released yet... I just think we all should be more patient with something that hasn't been released as a 1.0 with major bugs in it...

I received my Beta Key this morning yeah but sad as Ive just sold my Asus RTX 3090 and with the prices and stock available for a new 4000's cards down under in Australia is ridiculous so cant test it out :(

After 3-4 hours . Same physics for all cars .... try to disconnect ABS and TC on a GT3 (anyone) it's driving like a train , same réactions, same tyres model etc etc . Hyundai TCR is cool , great sounds , fun driving . Ryzen 2700X , 1080TI , 1440P , Hight/ 1440P , 56FPS average.

that motion blur you can not turn off is really killing me - and still missing the lock to horizon option to basically simulate what your eye compensates for shakyness.
these two things combined lead for me to slight nausea.
other than that, yes its visually very nice, but ffb still feels super weird.
will check in for the next big patch.

It is still way off the competition in term of immersion and sensation when driving (sounds are also terribad), even considering it is still in beta. I just got in with that wave and have to admit that I did not feel anything special making me want to invest time/money into that title at all. I still do not see what it has to offers than other do not.
