F1 Manager 2023 has already been out for PC and Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 4 & 5 since July 27th, but developer Frontier had also promised boxed versions of the game. These will be available shortly at retailers around the world.

No information has been given yet on the pricing, so it remains to be seen if there are any differences in cost between the digital and physical versions.

Why Physical Copies?

With fast and stable internet connections having become more and more common in recent years, physical copies of games have become a dying breed. Players tend to just buy games online an download them - but that might not be the best option for everyone.

Collectors who want to fill their shelves with the boxes aside, there are still more than a few regions where internet connections are excrutiatingly slow. To circumvent this, disc-based copies can help, as it is possible to install them on both Xbox and PlayStation systems even when offline, dramatically reducing the potential install time attached to an online version of the same game. To stay up to date, however, large downloads may still be necessary, especially if patches include fixes for bugs or new features.

August Update Still to Come

Frontier has announced the first big update to F1 Manager 2023 to drop in August still, but has not named a specific date yet. The update to v1.6 adds the feature to switch teams in between seasons, adding a new layer to players' managerial careers. You can find more info on the update here.

What do you think of the physical releases of F1 Manager 2023 coming this September? Do you collect boxed versions or have a slow internet connection that might make you appreciate their releases, or do you think they are unnecessary in 2023? Let us know in the comments below!
