Automobilista 2 | Complementary Updates Released

Automobilista 2 July Complementary Updates 01.jpg
Reiza Studios has updated Automobilista 2 to version 1.3.8.3 this week, and the latest patch brings significant updates to many existing cars.

A number of smaller updates to Automobilista 2 have been released since their major monthly update 10 days ago which brought the title to version 1.3.8.x. The current phase of development is focused primarily on setting a firm foundation of physics for what we expect to be a busy second half of 2022 on the content front.

Version 1.3.8.3 was released to Steam over the weekend, and this update gives players more than expected from a complementary patch.

Among the changes are physics overhauls to the Lancer Cup, TSI Cup, Opala 79, Copa Fusca and Copa Uno cars. The Opala 79 is a car commonly brought up in the "best sim cars you've never tried" discussion, and these updates should further enhance its standing in that category.

Also in the changelog, Reiza describes that further tire revisions were applied to many of the open wheel offerings in AMS2. These cars have been gaining popularity throughout the year, and are perhaps the best showcase of the recent physics updates in the title.

Players enjoying the new Argentinian tracks that were added this month as a free update also got some good news, as these three new circuits have been given real weather data.

Below is the changelog for version 1.3.8.3. Be sure to let us know your thoughts on this update, or anything else Automobilista 2 related in the comments below.

Great update once again Reiza! It doesn't get much better then this in terms of car/road/ffb feel imo.

Now that (almost) all physics/tires are fixed it's time to have the multiplayer working in good order. I hope that the focus now goes to that. AMS2 really deserves more MP racers.

Some major irritations in multiplayer still excist, while they are probably very easy to fix, such as:
- the impossibility to join servers in the last 2 min of quali; which are in fact ~6 minutes before each race, because 2 min until quali finished+2 min until everyone is finished+2 min before restart starts and everybody ready's. Why?
- And the bug that after quali the game sometimes (many times tbh..) don't continue automatically after quali. The host needs to press continue, WHY? Why does the game not continue automatically, so many matches are ruined already because of an host being afk.

Those 2 small things are probably very easy to fix:
First one: just let people join until the game REALLY starts(so if people didn't press ready yet, let other people in until the last minute, of they don't ready they go to pit anyway), just put them in the last positions.
Second point: just auto-continue.

Why is Reiza not fixing those 2 (in my believe major) issues? It will help so much and it costs so little effort.

I agree with all of this, especially letting people join till the last possible moment.

I've been really into the competitive aspect of iRacing lately and greatly enjoying that. But I do fire up AMS2 every couple of days and as soon as I start driving I go "Oh, right, this is amazing". I can only dream of an AMS2 with iRacing's multiplayer, but I'll settle for some daily official ranked races or something.

And on single player pleeeease why can't the AI refueling make sense? Why does the AI pit twice as needed? This also doesn't seem difficult to fix and yet it's still wrong, since ever

Lovely track updates.
I love that Reiza finally adds Argentinian content here, raced it so much in mods for GTR2, rF1, AC and WTCC/Race07 through the years. Though Bueños Aires layout #15 and Córdoba layout #4 could be a tad more non-forgiving, compared to a couple of rF1, AC and WTCC mods - but honestly dunno which is the more realistic one.
And next up on the Argentinian content has to be Balcarce.
Topped with the Turísmo Carretea I could buy this combo as a stand alone sim :inlove:

Best sim on the market when it comes to content, graphics (and after 1.4 comes out physics/ffb) but the sound is lacking imo. I would love them to focus on that after 1.4. Make the engine sounds more raw, and add more rattles, squeeks and cracks from the suspension and chassis.
And remove all the annoying pops and static sounds that are a known issue but obviously hard to fix, they can be fixed as Reiza acknowledged and fixed for a couple of cars.

More seriously, I invite you to also check the official Reiza forum to get more information, with more pictures, more explanation than the latest news here. I do not question the quality of the current articles which have the merit of not making a simple copy and paste of the news but to go into detail and understand the importance of such or such change, nothing better than the official source.

For example, the physics engine of Automobilista 2 is becoming really mature from version 1.38 and will change the feeling of playing, this maturity finally reached will allow I hope the product to pass to a higher dimension, as much as the content, the form, the ergonomics etc

My comment may be offensive but don't take it the wrong way, I may not have access to all the premium discussions on the website, nor have I had the desire or the time to research this or that item.
