With just one week separating the Mexican Grand Prix and this week's Brazilian Grand Prix, here is everything you need to look out for this weekend.

Home Race Horror Show

Just one week ago, the whole country of Mexico eagerly awaited the start of the Mexican Grand Prix weekend. Hopes were high for the homegrown talent, Sergio Perez. Like his 2023 season, however, it all went wrong very quickly. Mexico was what many considered, his final opportunity. Red Bull has a history of dismissing drivers with and without justified reasoning. Consequently, this paints a big red target on the 33-year-old's back. This weekend at Interlagos is critical for his future in the sport.

Max Verstappen has finished ahead of Perez by over 15 seconds at 9 of the last 12 races they’ve both finished. That statistic alone shows the class of his own that Verstappen has graduated into over the past year. Perez is not a slow driver, nor inexperienced. The task of playing second driver to a competitor like Max Verstappen has broken every teammate the Dutchman has had since joining Formula One in 2015.

Everyone Loves Brazil

So why is the Brazilian Grand Prix one of the most anticipated races on the calendar? The infamous 2008 showdown that cost Felipe Massa his first chance at a world title is by far the most famous. In 2012, championship leader Sebastien Vettel was taken out and had to come back through the pack to win and claim his third driver's world championship. 2021 saw Lewis Hamilton come from the very rear of the field to win in a dominant showing of what the W12 was capable of.

The Brazilian Grand Prix is held in high esteem with a lot of Formula One fans. Brazil has this magic that Formula One capitalises on. The layout is iconic with the same venue being used as far back as 1972. George Russell was last year's winner, who do you think will take the top spot this year? Let us know in the poll above!

I don't know if that makes it better or worse
It's like Bring and Take, where Hollywood seems to get mixed up where even back in Next Generation Star Trek I've heard Picard say "we're on a mission to bring an Ambassador to a distant star system" and the bristles on my neck start to rise, and I whisper through gritted teeth "take, you are taking the Ambass..."

"take, you are taking the Ambass..."

As a non-native English speaker, it took me a sec. But yeah, 'bring' makes it sound as if you're just bringing along, like you would do your dog :)

Makes sense if you think of it like golf.

Both are scored by the lowest number: Motorsport by time, golf the lowest amount of strokes.
Therefore, that's why it's referred to as a 'maximum' time, because it's the larger value.
Golf generally has a 'maximum' stroke allowance: I.e, you cannot take more than a certain amount of strokes/shots per hole. In F1 terms, drivers are not supposed to go over the maximum time set.

Your English is far better than my... well any other language really, for me though, being a GOM (Grumpy Old Man) and an English one at that I value the language a little more than some, and two of my pet 'neck bristlers' are the aforementioned Bring< and Take> and the other one is more the written Then and Than, where 'then' is often used in place for both, but I kinda excuse that one because it may be though of a 'thn' in a mind race, an example might be "Philipe, Fernando is faster thn you"
But enough thread derailment, sorry Connor

Wait, Massa & Ecclestone on the same grid?!

OMG, 1 corner, 3 cars out. And 1 before the start..... Maybe they can repair Piastri?

Another standing start >>> how many more? :whistling:

Max breaks another record, Lando proves there's hope for next year, and the fight for third shows both Checo and Fernando wanted it...
I agree DoD was Fernando, excellent start from Lando but Alonso secured it with his battle management, checo was up there too though... oh yeah, and Max, after all he won.

he still seems frustrated but if you are a real leader and want to demotivate your staff........ Toto now lowers himself for the second time.

Fernando has been my favourite driver for years but even I was astounded by his master-class driving today. It wasn't only the last few exciting laps, he was very clever throughout the race.
Magical stuff. I hope Lando's car keeps improving, if it does he is a real threat to Max.
I must admit I wasn't at all upset by the performance of Mercedes :)
