Toyota MR2 SW20 converted from the old Sports Coupes mod for rFactor 1.
Mod offers all the different revisions of the SW20 while also adding a Cup, GT and TRD2000 category.

The original rfactor mod was the only case where ive seen the infamous snap oversteer represented with the first revision of the car. Is it actually realistic? No idea, never had the pleasure to drive one irl, but it made me port the car to the less outdated AMS.

Now even though im not an expert, this is not a lazy conversion.
There was a bunch of fixing involved with the shaders, upgrade files, team files and etc. It does quite differ from the og rfactor version.

Remember to add in the RealFeelPlugin.ini values otherwise ffb will be inverted!

Known issues:

  • There is no UV map so liveries are not possible, making the Cup series a bit plain looking
  • The original used custom shaders developed for rf1, which did not work nor looked great in AMS so they were all replaced with the default AMS car shader, which means a bunch of shader-specific colors from the original now look glossy
  • The AI is unstable, making races chaotic (knowing the cars irl handling it might actually be a realistic feature :D )
  • The sound is taken from AMS Mini, as the original sounds were loud and low quality
  • The pop-up headlights are switched on/off in the upgrades, dont know if there is a way to make it move while turning lights on instead

NOTE:
All credit goes to the original creators IT-Trader & Scott Michaels
The mod was released at now a defunct site called PremierSimRacing.
I consider the mod abandonware but if the original creators come back from a 15 year hiatus to tell me to take the toyota down i will oblige!!
