dont even tried, im on ACC wth DGFT, i first do the wheelcheck method, and then compared your DGFT.lut file with the one created by wheelcheck, not compared in game, but just with notepad to see the value for each level of the curve, your lut file as 2x more point compare to the one created with wheelcheck, so its more detailed, its also stronger, for the point 0.3 for example wheelcheck lut is 0.269 and your DGFT lut is 0.424, so near 2 times stronger, and tried first the wheelcheck LUT and even with 100% gain in game i was feeling it too much weak, so i guess your LUT is stronger and more detailled, cant wait to try, thanks a lot for what you doing man
Hello!

Just got everything setup, tested and confirmed - the feel is VASTLY improved on my G27. So, many thanks!

One issue I'm having when using your 'Recommended' settings and LUT... during the course of a race, my G27 slowly loses center. Basically the center point of the G27 wheel (where the car goes straight and the drivers hands and car wheel are straight/centered) drifts a few degrees left (counter-clockwise). At the end of 5 laps or so, my G27 is canted by about 5 degrees. To get back to true center, I need to unplug the wheel from the USB and let it self-calibrate again.

This doesn't happen with the default settings, and I'm wondering if there's anything that can be done. I don't want to start a long race and have my wheel be at 90degrees off-center by the time the race is done LOL

Thanks!

Hi, thanks for the review! Could you try the "normal center" lut and check if the same is happening? I've read about this issue.. Maybe your g27 isn't 100% healthy anymore and the lut is a bit too much for it. Did you use the minimum force setting when you were using "default ffb"? Minimum force at 15% should have the same issues, if the raw force is the problem. I can't really help you.. Sorry! Never had this issue and don't remember a solution. I hope your g27 will last a lot longer though!!
Hello
Just wondering. I will try your setting later tonight.
But I drive a lot of formula cars (f1 aspecially) do I change the rotation degree in game or profiler to make it around 500?
And then back to 900 if driving a "#notsomuchofaracecar"?
Thanks
RasmusP
RasmusP
Hi, don't worry about rotation. In ac, you set the game and wheel to 900° and every car will have the "real life rotation". In a formula car, you'll see that the virtual wheel will stop after about 540 degrees while you'll be able to turn your real wheel further. Sadly the "soft lock" that should give more resistance then isn't really good in ac. So it's disabled in the game. You can find it in the ini files but don't even try. It's bad...
Wow, this is unreal I must say.
I got an old DFGT and bought Assetto for cheap a week ago. I been racing Gran Tourismo on and off for years but I really like AC.
Today I got mad not being able to find wheel setts I like, got lost between Profiler, CM, AC and game settings. Ten hours of tinkering later, read and downloaded your mod.
Ho ho, I couldn't believe the feeling, it's outwordly. I used to set my wheel for minimal movement, probably 280 degrees in profiler, this is polar opposite but it's fantastic.
I'm willing to try to get used to this setting, but so far, there's no way i can recover if I start spinning. Once off the road I can't even figure which way to turn the wheel..
You do normal racing with this sett or it's just for cruising or maybe drifting?
Should I put a spring on, so the wheel comes auto to it's default position?
Anyway, thanks for your effort, what you created is really cool, cheers.

Thanks for the review! I did normal clubracing and yes, in AC, if you start to spin you need to massively countersteer! With my current Fanatec wheel, it just does it automatically.. My old G27 needed some push to move around quickly enough. With the DFGT there's no chance sadly. It turns too slowly... So you need to actively turn the wheel into opposite lock, which is impossible at 900°. With the Fanatec wheel I just open my hands, lets the wheel rotate 400°, grab it again, wait for the car to correct itself and then let it rotate back and do a slight correction. With the DFGT I think you need to go down to 540° to be able to recover spins. Quite a nervous car then but at least possible to catch slides. My best friend has a dfgt and does only dirt rally, that's why I know this...
So: put the wheel to 540° and reduce the first line in the LUT files to 60% of the right value. I think this should work a lot better for you :)
Excellent ! With ACC 1.63 and a G25 steering wheel the result is really improved!
Thank you very much !

Glad that you like it! Thanks for the kind review!
I realized how crap my FFB setup was before discovering this. My old FFB settings made the deadzone go away but it vibrated like crazy because I used min-force. Thank you for this, my G29 feels much better!
RasmusP
RasmusP
Glad it feels nice for you too! The min force slide really is a harsh and edgy thing... My lut does nothing more than making the "min force" a smooth curve.. So easy, yet no devs implement the same.. Apart from pcars 1 actually!
The best. I thought my lutgenerator was good but this is something else, brought my G25 to life.
RasmusP
RasmusP
Thanks for the review! Lut generator helps a little but doesn't really grabs the construction issues by its roots. I tried my best to create a handcrafted lut for our Logitech wheels :)
Thanks a lot for this Lut file it really helped me, logitech g29 was making me crazy
I have still a little problem if you can help me it will be really nice, the wheel still feel too light to me, anyway I can make it heavier by a little? (First degrees of rotation are really really light) thanks in advance

Hi, thanks for the review :)
Is your per car gain at 100%? (numpad + and - key). If not, put that to 100 or higher. When you need more than 120%, raise the gain in the main menu.
What lut are you using btw?
If you need more detailed help, write in the support thread of this download :)
It was better than any G29 FFB setup I've ever seen.
This FFB is very smooth and close to the RaceRoom FFB I thought was the best.
Great job! Thank you.

Thanks for the review! Glad you enjoy it :)
I also created a race room ffb flowchart about where which setting sits in the multiplier chain. I also tried to get raceroom as close to rF2/acc/ac/ams since I raced in all of them here in the rd clubs.
Maybe that would be interesting for you too. If you can't find the posts, drop me a pm or post in the support thread of this download :)
G29 is much better, no more huge deadzone anymore.
However, some car like X-BOW R and Z4 GT3 is really heavy and stiff at high speed. I don't know if that is a feature of the car or something else. I'm new to sim racing, just 50hrs so I don't know why the car behave like that.
I'm using "recommended LUT" by the way.
Any way, great job.
RasmusP
RasmusP
Thanks for the stars and nice words! Every car has a unique "shape" of ffb. Maybe it's just that.. But maybe the in-car ffb multiplier is higher for them? Go on track, leave the pit menu and then press + or - on the numpad. This will raise or lower the ffb multiplier for that car on that track. I'd recommend 100% but feel free to use anything between 75-150%!
Great setup and guide. No deadzone whatsoever. However, i feel the steering ffb is still too lightweight for me. Is there any settings to increase the ffb power?
RasmusP
RasmusP
Yes and no. You're probably unhappy about the maximum force output of the kinda weak Logitech wheel. However my "recommended LUT" doesn't reach 100% gain. Also you can "fake" stronger ffb by keeping the average ffb output higher, while losing some fidelity. Like a modern dance song vs a classic orchestral rekord. Both are mixed to hit 99.99% of digital output but the dance song will feel a lot louder.
I worked on such a "fake stronger" LUT for someone, read on from my post here:

I thought I had improved things with lut generator, but after someone suggested I try this setup I realised how much better it actually could be. Great setup and guide.

RasmusP
Thanks for your nice words! Great that it works for you too!
Yep, awesome job. i didn't even know what a LUT was. I just followed these instructions.. idiot proof! My G27 works a treat now in ACC. Hey my Fanatec CSL Elite is on its way. Any mods necessary for it?

Thanks for the review! Glad you enjoy it :)
With the csl you don't need to do anything special! Defaults are fine at the wheel, then 50-80% ffb gain and 0-2% minimum force. If you need some help with the settings, just ask on the forums for the specific games and tag me if you want me to see the thread :)
Something you might want to add to your guide for G29 and G920 users is that Windows sometimes installs the xbox drivers instead of LGS.

Go to device manager and uninstall device on both the G920 and the G920 (HID). Mark the checkbox to remove the driver if shown.

Unplug the device from the system.

Then Go into 'C:\Program Files\Logitech Gaming Software\Drivers\LGJoyHid'

right click 'LGJoyHid.inf' and select install

do the same for 'C:\Program Files\Logitech Gaming Software\Drivers\LGJoyHid\WinUSB\LGJoyWinUsb.inf'

And plug in the device again

This makes the wheel SOOOOOO much better!! This and your LUT = PERFECTION

Oh wow I didn't know about this, thanks! Weird stuff... I'll add this to the main page!
Thanks for the stars and the kind words too!
Thank you for this guide man, my G29 feels a whole lot different now. No huge deadzone in the middle and the ffb feels quite strong as it should be. I'm experiencing some problems though, I'd appreciate if you could help me out with these:
1- My wheel feels quite tight at the center now, with no deadzone, but if I let go of the wheel when driving straight it oscillates left and right. Its not enough to spin the car out of control, but it looks quite weird.
2- In some tracks I experience huge rattling when I first drive off. I think it has something to do with AC engine, as the larger the track, the most rattling I get from the wheel. It makes a lot of noise and its quite annoying, I would like to know if there's any way to fix it.
Thanks in advance man, in the meantime I will take a look at your detailed guide and see if I can fix these
RasmusP
RasmusP
Hi, thanks for the kind words!
About your problems: Try to reduce the gain. 10-20% depending on the car. Press minus on your numpad to change the ffb for your current car while driving and see if it gets better. If not, please read the post from the following link. It seem that your G29 has a bit more gain than others so you need a bit less "correction" from the LookUpTable. Summary: open the lut with a text editor, reduce first value by 30%, second value by 20%, all other values by 10%.

Changed my AC experience

RasmusP
Great to hear! Thanks for the review!
Takes the FFB on the G29 to a level I didn't know it could achieve. Now other sims feel lacking in comparison.
RasmusP
RasmusP
Thank you! I know what you mean.. Now you want a lut setting for all sims... At least ACC got it after a while!
Just wow! Thank very very much, really.
