This a tool to edit driver names. At the moment, the changes are only for career mode and only for the drivers. In the future I will try to add quick race and team name.
This a table based on Cheat Engine where you can edit your driver names.
Usage:
Open the table that you just downloaded, start f1 2018.
After the game started, press on the computer image under File and select F1 2018 from the list. You will see in the lower half of the Cheat Engine a list with all the drivers where you can edit their names.
On the downside, the changes are not saved when you close the game, that being still a work in progress.
Alright, so building on the last version, I have attached a script with all the confirmed driver changes for 2019.
THIS CHANGES ONLY THE NAMES
Please note that Stroll is not at Force India because although this is almost inevitable, it's still not confirmed.
Changes:
Charles Leclerc to Ferrari
Pierre Gasly to Red Bull
Lando Norris & Carlos Sainz to McLaren
Daniel Ricciardo(Ric) to Renault
Daniil Kvyat to Toro Rosso
Kimi Raikkonen & Antonio Giovinnazi to Alfa Romeo Sauber
Known bugs:
> Ricciardo instead of Sainz overwrites Esteban Ocon's name so I decided to name him Ric instead of Ricciardo so Esteban's not overwriten.
> Atonio Giovinnazi's name is also too long so I split it in Antonio G and iovinnazi. This looks fine in the menu but in the race, his name tag is IOVINNAZI. If you don't like this, just change his name in the script.
Now that those are established, let's see how you get this to work:
* After downloading the attached archive, open "driver_changes_v1.10_plus_2019_script". When asked about executing the script select Always Ask (or whatever doesn't matter that much)
* Now open your F1 2018 game and make sure it's version 1.10 because this works only for that version. Do not go into career mode or anything else, stay in the main menu.
* Go back to Cheat Engine and click the computer icon, seen below
From the list, select F1 2018, click open and click yes when asked about keeping the current address list/code list.
Now go to Table and click Show Cheat Table Lua Script (or just pres Ctrl + Alt + L)
In the new opened window, click execute script.
Now when you go back into the game, all the driver names should be updated.
If you want to create a script for grand prix drivers names, you can do that following the model that you see in the script. I might do it myself in the future depending on free time.
When more changes are announced/confirmed, I will update this script.
Driver nationalities cannot be changed for each driver so use a mod that removes the flags.
For more detail on how to use cheat engine, use google or youtube as there are quite a few sources.
Note: > Edit driver names while still in main menu
> Sainz's name overlaps that of Esteban Ocon in memory so if you want to replace Sainz's name, choose something with max 6 characters
I've only tested this on my machine so there is a change that it won't work for everyone
