Normally I'd start with a picture of the mod but this is not a normal mod.
WARNINGS
1. If you use a powerful steering wheel, limit the torque. You will flip the Jeep on its side and the steering will hurt you.
2. This vehicle rolls over more easily than anything I've ever released. That includes the Reliant Robin and the Stairtruck. You cannot drive this fast, it will fall over. Before the Ford Bronco got made infamous in the late 80s, the Jeep CJ5 was the subject of numerous successful lawsuits in the late 70s for rolling over and killing people. AMC executives said, essentially, "stop driving it like it's a car. Go slower in corners," and didn't address the top-heavy, narrow track width design, until the later 80s when they introduced the YJ Wrangler.
3. Probably don't bother if you have a gamepad. It has a solid front axle and the steering design is such that it will pull to the right at all times, and swerve heavily over bumps, it's not a mistake, it's just how it drives because of the design.
3. This mod is tested on CSP 0.2.0 (latest available as of mid November 2023). It may work with earlier versions but it will probably crash the game.
4. On CSP 0.2.0, there is a bug with the Suspensions app in combination with some weathers, you cannot start the game with it open. If you do see this error (crashed in RenderMirror) and can't run the game, run another car, close the app, then you can select this one.
5. It might not work on every track. The suspension gets upset sometimes and if it gets too upset the car nopes out of existence. I tested it on Bridgehampton and Silverstone.
Introduction
I had exactly the amount of energy necessary to build a car in 10 days, so I did that. It's a 1976 AMC Jeep CJ5, meaning it's the longer wheelbase version of the CJ5 model that was introduced in 1954. By 1976 it was powered by the 5 litre AMC V8, producing a whole 150 horsepower. Attached to a 3 speed manual transmission with very long final gears. 70s were not a good time for American performance. It'll do 140km/h if you push it down a hill.
Installation
Open the 7z file. Move the contents to assettocorsa\common\cars\.

Secret
If you press CSP Extra Button A, while stationary and clutched in (or in neutral), you may shift the transfer case into low range. This doubles the gear ratios, and it can't really go fast enough to exceed low range's 3rd gear anyway. I would have liked it to also engage 4x4, but couldn't find CSP documentation indicating whether that's possible. Typically this button is Numpad 7 or Alt+Numpad 7 but it can be remapped in Content Manager.
