F1 2012 Xbox pad

Hello....got something rather annoying going on with my xbox pad - it keeps disconnecting. I am thinking that maybe it has had its day, as it could be an issue with the battery compartment?

New batteries in.....

Anyone else have this issue?

I was having this problem when I upgraded from Windows XP to 7. It was at least a year back, so I can't remember links but I managed to fix it by downloading the latest drivers for it (there may have been a Windows 7 specific one). Assuming, of course, you're on PC and not XBOX.
