ws2812 Rev light Redline

Hi all
Recently built a rev counter using 2 ws2812 straps and a pro micro. Works fine, but I'm trying to tune the simhub profile. Problem is the redline blinking is happening way before it would on the in car rev counter. I have the profile set to 100% of rpm, and wanted to know, other than creating a specific rpm range for each car, am I missing something.
