F1 2011 When to change tyres in the wet?

Is there anyway of knowing when to change tyres from slicks once it starts raining? Cause the engineer doesn't call me in or offer assistance. Also, how do you know whether to choose inters or wet?

depends on the level of rain, come in 3 laps after 3 laps or so if its light, immediatly if its heavy. wet/inter is a gamble upto you mate

If the rain is light and there's still a dry line - stick with slicks.
If the dry line is gone, but the track is just damp and there are no huge puddles - inters.
If it's raining cats and dogs and the whole track is just a single, huge puddle - wets (and look out for the red flag ).
