Wheel combined with keyboard keys not functioning correctly

When drifting im using my wheel to steer and shift+ctrl to change gears mid turn or whenever im steering(i only have paddle gears). However shift and ctrl dont always gear me up or down when i press them. Why is this happening? It didn't seem to be the problem before. How can i fix this? Other keys for keyboard work everytime when i press them. F.e A and Z. I tried using this combo in other games as well and it works. Its only Assetto that it happens

P.S: The shift+ctrl keys are fine when in use outside the game.
