What is pure script for?

if I use a one pp filter and the .lua file but without pure script what does it change?
what is a pure script for?

have this in pure config if i use custom filter without script
(pure script not found ppfilter does not work correctly)
but all work great

so what is it for?

Same here, very annoying as I had one looking better than what I was left with...
