Track Designing Competition

S/F along Highway 1 at the Marina, and there is plenty of space for the pits along the waterfront. Climbing through the restaurant and financial district leads to a hairpin and a great overtaking spot. Taking a long bend around the Casino leads to the longest straight on the circuit. This takes us past the old castle ruins and the Puerto Rico capitol building. A quick right-left offers another great overtaking spot, and the circuit follows the second long straight to a more industrial area. It follows a more grid-like pattern from here, with several 90-degree medium speed turns. This empty district could offer a lot of development opportunities for rich investors looking to build hotels and restaurants along the circuit. A very fast and long chicane takes us back to the S/F straight.

I also thought mine would have been too twisty and short. But, Hanoi isn't exactly car-friendly to begin with.
Apparently Tilke has masterminded a 6km layout in the city centre according to the rumours regarding the circuit, no idea where considering the state/width of some of the roads in the city

you could have cut through some roundabouts and it would have likely been good enough for the win.

anyway, Puerto Rico (nice spelling Jim :D)

I'm kind of a purist, not liking to reconstruct much. Sending a track through a car park is fine, but I'm not into removing medians, curbs, etc. Unless it's Monaco, of course, because all of their features in the streets are removable or made of giant potted plants.
