WIP Thruxton Beta

Discussion in 'Bob's Track Builder Projects' started by Lasercutter, Dec 20, 2009.

  1. As I'm now too busy to know when (or if) this will ever get finished I've decided to release a part finished beta just so I can at least see somebody using what's done.

as far as I know it all works ok, but let me know if you find anything.

The list of stuff to do includes, but isn't a complete list, the following:

Fire Truck buildings by last chicane
    Replace all temporary aircraft buildings
Replace temporary warehouse and add containers and other tso
    Add bar buildings and seating
    Add guardrail to pit area
Replace temporary guardrail at pit in and out
    Replace temporary marshal posts
    Add missing vegetation (various locations)
Make pit doors activate when garage in use
Redo aiw file so cars start inside garage
Remap several areas of track runoffs and verges
    Rework and add track edges
Add cars ambulances and other trackside vehicles
    Add crowds
    Add loudspeakers and ambient noises
Rework road textures and add missing bumps
Add varying road surface effects (low grip offline etc.)

in fact as I type this out I realise just how much I have to do and how little chance there is of getting it finished.

Anyway here is the link and feel free to pass it along.

Thanks also go to SLN for the use of some of his excellent textures.

  8. wow! i think i just....... wait no cant say that ummmm thats awesome been waiting for a descent version of this track for a very looooong time, finally my home track :D
  9. This version rules! well done Lasercutter, also in the future any chance of getting it in Race On?
  10. at the moment I have other tracks that take priority over this one and as stated in the first post I'm not sure when I'll find the time to get back to this, I know that the next three or four months are already booked but I might try to squeeze a few hous a week in on this to get it to at least a near finished state, once I'm happy that it's around 90% complete I will have no problem allowing people to convert it to any other game, personally I won't have the time to do it but I know that there are others that can.
  11. thats cool, brilliant job though very nice job
  12. ok, got a few days free this week so spent a few hours on this track again.........still far from finished and still no idea when and if it ever will be (to my satisfaction anyway.
Thanks to Alex and Luc for the use of some textures and objects.

PS. if anyone spots Brendon please ask him to reply to my emails as BTB stopped working after I updated my nvidia drivers and he's gone missing.

    here is the new version.

What are your plans with this track?

Do you intend to finish it now, or are you just working on it if and when? Would be a crying shame if this never got finished, as i think its pretty amazing as it is now.
