Sebastien Buemi retained by Red Bull

After a brilliant 2014 for Sebastien Buemi, in which he claimed the World Endurance Championship drivers crown for Toyota, the long term Red Bull man has been retained by the team as their reserve driver for the 2015 season.

Buemi will keep the role he's had since 2012, after being dropped by the feeder Scuderia Toro Rosso team at the end of the 2011 season. Buemi will therefore carry on his dual role as Red Bull test and reserve driver, alongside his commitment to defending his WEC title for Toyota next year.

This new deal is a definite vote of confidence from the Red Bull team, with Buemi stating to Swiss publication Blick "I love the work I do in the simulator - it is a lot of fun. Therefore I have now signed again for another two years." This is therefore the best early Christmas present he could have imagined as he looks forward to the 2015 season.
