EnduRacers Modding Team and Gentlemen Racers have released build 5.00 of the impressive Flat 6 Series car mod for rFactor 2.


Having gone through various evolutions to the impressive Flat 6 mod since first releasing back in 2015, the EnduRacers Modding Team & Gentlemen Racers mod group have now come out with a surprise and rather sizable new update to these spec racing cars, updating the mod to version 5.00 and adding goodies such as the latest rFactor 2 CPM tyre model, endurance position plates, physics improvements and yet further refinements to the force feedback behaviour of the cars amongst other fixes and improvements.

The latest build isn't the final one coming to these cars either - with a further update already confirmed as in the works to accommodate the new Studio 397 shader system, currently under development before the rFactor 2 developers release to the wider sim modding community.

  • AI : Updated cars icons.
  • GRAPHICS : Updated Rims & Tires specular.
  • GRAPHICS : Added position plates.
  • GRAPHICS : Corrected crash in showroom.
  • PHYSICS : Tire updated (based on latest S397 reference used on official DLC).
  • PHYSICS : Aero adjusted (to finetune after tires integration).
  • PHYSICS : Tire wear adjusted.
  • PHYSICS : Tire pressure adjusted.
  • PHYSICS : Default setup adjusted (don't reuse old setups).
  • PHYSICS : IA performances and stability fixed.
  • PHYSICS : Crash at high speed fixed.
  • PHYSICS : FFB power adjusted.
  • PHYSICS : Brake pressure is now adjustable.
  • PHYSICS : Method to check laptimes vs real laptimes changed to be closer than real time with rubbered tracks.
  • PHYSICS : Rear wing steps passed from 10 to 20 to allow more finetune in setup.
  • PHYSICS : Brake power and balance adjusted.
  • PHYSICS : Some aero finetunes.

Of course, I don't argue with that.
It's only that I still like this mod and the official DLC doesn't make better racing.
I don't need to keep up with the latest DLC and to find that within 3 months the previous DLC is already obsolete.
Besides, there's always some disappointments with the official DLC.
Actually Enduracers are doing a better job than S397.

Funny. Enduracers actually had for the longest time fictional inertia values (twice too large) in the Flat6 physics, there was a long discussion about it here a year or two ago. And it was by far not the only problem, tires that gained more grip with sliding and temperature increase was present as well not long ago. To their credit, the mod has improved with each iteration, but the physics are still quite a way from S397 cars. Cars are still floating in a way that S397 cars do not.
 
Oh yeah totally. I still love this car just would love to see a 2017/2018 version too.
That wouldn't make much sense. If it's the same model ported from rF1, it's supposed to be the late '00s Cup car that was used in the PCC and the GTC class (in ALMS) which is the same time period of the rest of the mod. But you could always use another model with this physics and have the same result.

I just wish it looked a bit more modern. I know that might be a bit odd but just my wish.
 
Great great update. I almost know nothing about physics, i'm only guided by sensations (and what i see in real races) and this car feels awesome (to me). Had not raced it since 1.0, i have to say.

Is a blast to drive in recently launched Bridgehampton (the popular AC track).
 
Maybe some of us pay for DLC because we want the content and we want S397 to continue development of rF2.
That's a good side-effect, but i pay for the content because it's excellent:thumbsup:. This mod is still not in the same ballpark than the S397-content and i tested both successively. Why is the tyre-wear still the same or even worse than with the GT3 soft-slicks? Bridgehampton was about 3% per lap, which i find too harsh. GT3-Medium-slicks are about 1% per lap. FFB is less detailed and i hope that Studio 397 is developing a good Cup Porsche better sooner than later:whistling:.
