Removing track objects

I'm trying to learn how to mod tracks for personal use/preference.

I converted from Kn5 with kn5conv resulting in fbx, mtl, and obj files. Then in 3dsMax I opened the fbx and removed the unwanted objects. Do I need to open the mtl and obj first too in 3dsmax? Also, how do I repack as KN5?

Any help for a beginner greatly appreciated.

If using max, then fbx and textures are all you need to worry about, mtl and obj are formats for other 3D softwares.

After your changes in max, you need to export it back to fbx, with scale set to 1.0 meters

then import it into kseditor, that’s where you repack it back to kn5.
