The MX5 cup drivers duke it out in the draft.
With only three rounds to go in the RaceDepartment MX-5 Cup, the chase for the championship is in full effect. Sakke Leponiemi celebrated his second consecutive win last Sunday at the Nordschleife, allowing him to catch up in points to Geoffrey Tassenoy and Tobias Röhner. Meanwhile, Pierre Cavillon and Tyler Breland who where chasing in the earlier rounds have dropped a few points, but both are keen to get back into the fray.
Moving into Monza, the consensus is that the race will be decided by team tactics and draft. Top speed and smart positioning will be key, but good braking technique into the chicanes is equally important. As it is almost impossible to break away from the field on this track for any driver, we might see some of the closest combat yet this season.
