While pit stops are not mandatory in the RDFVC S1, this quick guide will show you how to make a successful pit stop in Game Stock Car Extreme should the need arise.

Setting Up

The first thing you'll need to do is make sure you've mapped all the relevant controls. Map buttons for the following entries:

· Request a Pit Stop

· LCD Up

· LCD Down

· LCD Left

· LCD Right

Entering the Pits

When you are out on track push the button you've assigned to request a pit stop. It's best to do this early in a lap to give your pit crew time to prepare. Using the LCD keys, you can specify what work you want done to the vehicle, including changing tire pressures. It is a good idea to plan your strategy before the race.

You need to be clear with your intentions when entering the pits in order to avoid incidents with vehicles around you. Ensure your vehicle is inside the white line denoting the pit entry lane nice and early - do not cut across the white line with a last second dive into the pits.

Each pit lane has a speed limit. At Cascavel, for example, that limit is 60 KPH. Slow your vehicle down below this limit before crossing the pit entry line. If you speed in the pits, you'll incur a drive-thru penalty. The Vees do not have a pit speed limiter, so you'll need to be careful and manually manage how fast you're travelling.

The Pit Stop

It's always a good idea to practice a pit stop during the warm-up session in order to learn where your pit box is. Search for a red outline on the floor and a pit-board that indicates your box, and stop inside it. Your pit crew won't touch your vehicle unless you're inside the box, so be careful not to overshoot it.

Keep your eye on the pit timer. The moment the timer stops counting, you're free to go. Pull out of your box (check your mirrors!) and carry on down the pit lane, remembering to stay under the speed limit.

Exiting The Pits

Once you cross the white line at the end of the pit lane, you are clear to hit racing speeds once again.

You may be allowed to hit higher speeds, but the pit exit isn't completely done yet. When you get back onto the track, you'll be on the inside of a white line. You are not permitted to cross this line. Do not pull back onto the racing line before the end of the white line, ensure there are no other vehicles you're likely to disadvantage or collide with, and merge back onto the track at racing speed.

That's it - you've successfully made a pit stop!

The pre-season event will be a full run through of how the races will work in the league. This race is not about winning; you will not get any points. It is about making sure your graphics are set correctly to avoid stuttering, to get more familiar with track and car, and to experience a full run through before the league starts to avoid confusion later on. All drivers in the main list are expected to show. Absentees who do not report at least 24 hours before the event may find themselves removed from the league.

The race will be conducted under league racing rules (so no need to wait if you disadvantage a driver) however major or blatant infractions of the rules may see a points or time penalty imposed for the next round. Please conduct yourselves as you would in the league proper.

The thread for the pre-season test event is now live. See here. Please read through the thread. The event is not about winning, but to ensure everything is working smoothly before the league starts properly; from an admin side, and also from a driver side re: graphics, skins, etc. The skin pack will be released before the event.

And talking of skins, there are still skins pending. Please remember the deadline is the 26th September, so just two more days! No skins will be accepted after this date and you will be given an RD default. I'm looking forward to seeing more skins.

In other news, there will most probably not be a live stream of this season thanks to certain issues I won't go into here; hopefully something can be sorted if and when we do another league. I am going to attempt some sort of video highlights, but I make no promises.

Feedback, questions and comments always welcome, feel free to PM me. Happy skinning!

Thanks for letting me know nice and early. Being as it's a 'possible' absence, please can you confirm at least 24 hours before the round, thanks!

Skin submissions close on Saturday 11th October 2014.

Please send the link to your nominated skin to @Joao M Alves who has very kindly offered to compile them into a skin pack for the entire grid to download.
Just remember that when creating or choosing a skin that it meets the custom skin criteria outlined in the General info thread, if not, it will be rejected.

How are penalties decided? Is there a system in place to ascertain the number of points to be reduced for common infractions? Or is it decided on a case by case basis ?
