RACE 07 from SimBin comes loaded with new features and game modes

Multiple award winning game studio SimBin Development Team is proud to reveal some of the news in the eagerly awaited sequel to RACE called RACE 07, scheduled for release on PC this year.

RACE 07 will contain more than 200 cars in 11 different car classes and host 20 different circuits from all over the world, several of them being city racetracks never before featured in a racing game.

Next to the FIA WTCC seasons of 2006 and 2007 RACE 07 also contains open wheeler and sports car racing such as Formula 3000, Formula BMW and Radical SR3 and SR4.

A new and unique helmet cam view has been implemented to support the open cockpit cars specifically. This helmet view is directly affected by different weather effects as well as dirt and bugs on the helmet visor.

On top of this comes a new animation for removing virtual “Tear offs” from the helmets visor, just as in real racing where the helmet is heavily exposed during the races.

RACE 07 is also introducing a new “action camera cockpit view” that will add even more immersion and sensation of speed when driving from the cockpit.

RACE 07 supports both a normal according to real life championship mode as well as a new custom championship mode where you can mix cars and classes, not to mention tracks, as you wish. In addition RACE 07 also supports custom skins, especially important for communities and league racing.

The late changes in the calendar of the FIA WTCC events has resulted in several new circuits for SimBin to implement into RACE 07 and for this reason the release is now set to autumn 2007.

Thanks for the Race 07 moderator TheStig reporting this good News. Sounds good and will find many other economy Drivers in Europe. I am looking forward to setup the different cars on tracks. I´m interested for the big wheels - yes, come in and find out - he, he.

Whoooozaaahhh!!

Forget about July, let em work! It will be worth the while it seems.

200 cars, multiple classes, 20 tracks, official option to use custom skins... it's way more than the promissed at first. Man, don't mind the summer, let it be autumn!

True, Richard.

I was a bit disappointed of that advertisement of GTR2, too.
(Although its an awesome simulation)

Guess the only game that came up with a correct number of different cars
is Test Drive Unlimited.
Unfortunately far away from a simulator...

understood, but i think it leads to appear a bit ridiculous to call a car "different" just because it has another starting number than the one of his teammate ;)

Despite my anticipation about RACE '07. Am I the only one who thinks the inclusion of some open wheel classes a little odd, considering the main event content? (Touring cars)

To me it feels more like an exercise in manufacturers licences to show off, rather than "Added" content.

Brad.

Yes i agree that it feels a bit odd, but simbin has so much licenses to produce games with that i fully understand this decision!

GTR and GTR2 were co-productions with blimey i thought (correct me if i am wrong) and i think RACE 07 will be some kind of follow up for that game as well. And with steam they can release add-on packs in the future to satisfy everyone :)

I do not have a problem with extra/added content, but seeing as how there are still some bugs in RACE, that will never get sorted. I would rather SIMBIN polish the WTCC '06 -07 championships in RACE '07 before attempting to add other racing classes.

Although at the end of the day. it's all good! "Variety is the spice of life!"

Brad.
