Pro RL drivers sim race - covid19?

I heard that iRacing is trying to put together some simulation races with real life drivers. For example getting all the NASCAR drivers to race.

I hope this comes to fruition and is televised!!! It would be huge for our hobby!

Does anyone have any additional details? I do not have a up to date iR membership.

I read something on the forms but can't recall the exact details. I think it was more or less a members idea to do this....so not too sure it will actually happen, tho it would be pretty cool if does happen.
If it does I am pretty sure iracing will stream it on one of there many esport channels.

Edit:
So I was wrong, apparently there was a race streamed on twitch with a few dozen pros from the Xfinity series I believe racing at Atlanta.
Not exactly sure why iracing didn't promote it more and use one of there esport channels?
I just saw it for the first time on the beta UI need feed.

I'll update this thread if they plan on doing any more races in the future.

I think it would pretty cool if they did more of these....cause what else do they have to do on cancelled race days lol

If anyone has all the little bits and pieces in place, it's iRacing. Pity the do not have a proper LMP2 car, they could run a 24h LeMans race on the original date with real life drivers.

I just got an email from IMSA. iRacing is putting on virtual sebring 90 min race with professional drivers from the IMSA endurance series this Saturday!
