F1 2010 Online play problem - noise from microphone

Hey, I was wondering if anyone can help me with a problem I'm having when I race online with F1 2010.

For some reason, when I go online to race, it shows that my microphone is on and apparently it produces A LOT of noise. Kind of like white noise. However, I don't have a microphone ever plugged into my computer so I don't know what is producing the noise from my PC that shows up as coming from a mic.

I've raced with a few others who have had this problem and the noise really is irritating and I personally don't want to race online if I'm irritating people (as I've been told, "hey, turn that **** off!"). I've tried all manner of different settings on my PC's audio and played with the limited audio options in F1 2010, all to no avail.

Can anyone help me figure out why my PC is generating all this noise that others hear when I play online???

Do u have a webcam with a mic built in?

Also if you go into windows live into settings then choose voice and put a little cross in the small box that should mute anything
