So you thought development of Automobilista had finished right? Wrong! A new update and some fresh content is heading to the sim - and here are the previews to prove it!

Already benefitting from a new update within the AMS Beta build, head man of Reiza Studios Renato Simioni has today confirmed some new content is also on the way to the simulation - with the little known Puma Automobiles manufacturer set to make an appearance with not one but four models coming to this outstanding racing title.

Sharing preview images on the Reiza Studios forum earlier today, Simioni has confirmed the classic Puma GTE and GTB will be added as existing content to the Brazilian TC Classics DLC, and the yet to be released new P052 and Lumimari GT will be coming to the title as free base content. Excellent!

For those of us maybe less familiar with the Puma Automobiles brand, here's what Wikipedia have to say on this obscure but rather cool manufacturer:

Puma is a Sports Car manufacturer, based in South Africa, which originally started out in Brazil. While based in South America, the company built cars from 1964 until roughly 1995, and also produced trucks from 1978 to 1999. The company then returned in 2013 under the name of "Puma Automobiles" and began manufacturing the Puma 52 (made especially for racing tracks) and the Puma GT 2.4 Lumimari.

Many consider[weasel words] the first development of Pumas to be a result of Brazilian regulations during the 1960s that restricted imports and were designed to encourage domestic automobile production. High tariffs and more import-friendly regulations of the mid 1980s, as well as turmoil in the company, are widely considered to be among the main factors that ended the production of the first generation of Puma's Brazilian produced automobiles. During this era, Puma sourced engines from DKW (3 cylinders), Volkswagen (4 cylinders) and General Motors (4 and 6 cylinder) and mounted them on their own chassis and Fiberglass bodies. A select number of cars were exported to US markets during the 1970s to the 1980s, but a more cost effective Kit car option was responsible for the majority of US models. The Kit car variant was actually a complete car exported without the front suspension, transaxle, engine, wheels and tires. The missing components were available from the North American distributor, or the buyer could source the needed parts locally. Less restrictive regulations permitted the importation and marketing of a greater number complete cars in Canada.

Production of the first models started in 1964 using DKW components and a front engine, front wheel design. These models were sold and manufactured exclusively for auto racing. In 1967, and the entire automobile was re-adapted for street use and commercial sale and featured an updated rear-mounted Volkswagen engine with a rear-wheel design.

Automobilista is a PC exclusive racing game from Reiza Studios, and can be purchased from the Steam network.

Just to be clear, before we can package anything, we first need to get the content delivered by Reiza, who are still putting the finishing touches to this DLC. As soon as we have it, we can check, package and start planning the marketing and release together.

Indeed the delay is on us folks.. We´ve been busier than it looks :p

Shouldn´t be long now :) some of the packages are ready to deliver, just a few cars to go now.

Some more info as this wasn´t really meant to be more than an inside-beta preview :p

This indeed is not the final previously announced DLC, it´s a new partnership that´s come up more recently to promote Puma´s comeback. We´ll have better previews and more details on the cars soon enough, but again as previously mentioned all cars will be "free" (so long as you already own the Brazilian TC Classics DLC for the classic models). We´re aiming to release them before christmas.

The much awaited and long overdue final DLC should follow not long after.

So the dlc is now tentatively scheduled for January..... when do you plan to reveal what is in it?

Any estimate for when you will reveal plans for AMS2?

Thank you.

Does season pass mean you only get any/all updates/DLC for 1 year hence the word "season?" I keep seeing the term "season pass" for videogames even for other games like when I bought Borderlands 1 and then 2 years back.

I'd rather just wait until a bundle sale comes up for all DLC rather than buy a time-limited season pass. What if not much DLC comes out that year? It's kind of a gamble.

Usually if the season pass it just for a year it will say something like Year 1 Pass, Year 2 Pass... and so on. Like in Rainbow Six Siege, for example.

For a lot of games Season Pass means all future DLC content, and AMS is one of those games.

There's four seasons a year so if that's what it meant you'd logically be time limited to 3 months! :D

There are annual passes for games, as far as I'm aware, but they're normally named as such.

Season in this case is more like the term the Americans use for the TV Series. Consider AMS as it's own series, with Series/Season 2 arriving as AMS 2.

Therefore your Season Pass covers all DLC for this installment. You can buy the packs individually if thats more practical but as a general rule it will work out costlier.

Due to Reiza raising the funds to develop the game via crowd-funding it gets a bit more complex with membership packs and backer perks but if you're just looking to grab the game and all it's associated content the 'Season Pass for All DLCs' from Steam is the option you're looking for.

AMS is the Best simulator out there, hands down. IMO Just needs some human animation like rfactor2.
I have converted every single F1 mod from rFactor1 to AMS.
Since 1965, I believe only 1986/87/88 seasons aren't available yet.
RBR and AMS make the complete package for me, so good to see content still emerging.

Since it had been tentatively scheduled for january this year I hope one can understand some hesitation in making further tentative estimates.. I´d say that´s realistic but I have been wrong before :)

OK, so season pass for AMS means all DLC and for all time. Great!

Whoever started using the term "season" pass for videogames' lifetime DLC is a real tool, lol. It's not a pass for all downloads only during a season (a year or whatever you want to consider a season) so why call it a season pass? What does "season" have to do with anything? Lol! Call it something like "lifetime pass," "unlimited pass," "lifetime DLC" or something like that. I don't think I've ever heard any human-being refer to the time of a videogames' release to it's last ever DLC release as a "season." So dumb, lol.

Sorry for the rant but I realized I missed out on a lot of good content over the years because I thought "season" meant 1-year's worth of DLC (hence the word "season") rather than the videogames' lifetime.

This stupid wording needs to be changed on a massive scale in the video game industry.

And I do hope Reiza stays clear from the UE4 which makes (at least for now) triple screen support out of reach.
Amen. No true triple-screen support means no purchase from me. It doesn't even have to have all the numbers to input but just the RF1/AMS style where you calculate it is fine with me.

There's no way Reiza will make a game without true triple screen support. Does anyone think a guy like Niels will stoop to that after years of playing with true triple screen support on his own system? No chance, lol.

Hi Renato,

Beside of the new contents fixes coming up as well? Especially i would like to ask that when AI cars getting lapped without reason and AiPitThreshold issues?

Thanks in Advance,

Philip

Happy to see more hardtops but not sure i'm excited about the choice. I'm guessing these are in the low-mid speed range. Would prefer a full fledged race car, but its good content nonetheless.
Puma is a fiberglass Porsche wannabe with 1300cc air cooled Beetle engine and laughable suspension. When it rains in Brazil people joke it rains more inside the car than outside due the poor sealing and construction. It can be everything except a racing car.

Most titles are on a "buy a new warmed over version every year" cycle...hence the season pass. Reiza could have done that with GSC/AMS, but chose instead to give far more value and enjoyment/$ to their customers. Ironically, Reiza has also provided much better patch support and new free content and features than originally advertised. For many mainstream titles, any significant patch is the next year's title.

When S397 were asked about the Reiza DLC recently, they said exactly the opposite. That it's not under their control and they are waiting for Reiza to deliver. Edit: here.
:) Renato probably ment that after they deliver the content to s397 in those 3 weeks or so, it is not on them when it will accualy be released in rF2, that those 3 weeks are not till release but till them giving it to S397 ..

And Marcel just on the last page confirmed that Reiza are still working on the DLC, so the three weeks deadline was passed from Reiza's side since they haven't delivered it to S397 as of yet. I don't want to sound too anal about it, but the original deadline was September and now it seems the second deadline was also exceeded.
