I've located where it might possibly be in the .exe but whenever I try to modify it and save it (as F12012_1.exe) it won't run.

Is it so easily modifiable? I haven't tried on F1 2012 actually, but don't run it from _1.exe. only F12012.exe or it's real name..

I have tried that, no go I'm afraid. I have no idea what I'm doing with .exe files.
It's a change to some hex values I think.
