There is only a very small compression advantage over the build-in windows zip, which works for everyone.

Also I have to elaborate that WinRAR is not free, it is trialware with a very annoying warning.

If you are going to use a 3rd party compressing library, I would recommend 7zip as the compression ratio is a lot better. (it's open source as well).
