Is it possible to change the rotary switch on a Thrustmaster wheel to a rotary encoder?

I have the TX wheel and open wheel type rim, I am keen to swap the rotary switch for a rotary encoder, I am unsure if the wheel would recognise one or maybe it would damage the board?
I have no knowledge of this type of thing:)
Any help appreciated.

On LeoBodnar.com the difference between rotary encoder and rotary switch are explained.

From what I understand the two are not interchangeable because they send different signals to the board.

So unless you want to change the wheel to an USB board, i´m afraid you are out of luck.

If you drive on PC and want to do the conversion the mentioned company has you covered with everything necessary.
( and ships lightning fast from England to Germany, just took two days:thumbsup:)
