Apps Is it possible in any way to get gaps from Substanding Extended, in my own app?

I'd like to make me an app that displays the gap to other drivers. But, as we know, AC calculates the gaps in some bonkers way, whereas the SubStanding Extended mod basically fixes it and displays proper gaps. The question is, can I somehow obtain the gap figures from SubStanding Extended without replicating the algorithm? Is there an API or something?

Personally I'd prefer making a Lua plugin—seeing as it's so much faster than Python that my Lua scripts finish before Python even starts up. But I can live with either.

(I must admit that I haven't read every bit of writing on AC app modding or SubStanding in particular, so I might spew here something obvious to other people. But it is what it is.)
