In game message centre...

Discussion in 'rFactor 2' started by Ray Lilley, May 11, 2012.

  1. Does anyone know if it is possible to either, change the font colour or, change the message box background to solid fill.

    My problem is, I drive in 'hood; view; I have a white car and the font colour is white/grey.

    Yes, it's possible. No it's not easy....

    I am changing the position of the box to prevent issues like this in the custom user interface I am building. Instead of it being in the bottom, I want to put in on top of the screen (like Race07 f.i.). However, doing this is not an easy task, as you need to customize the user interface to do so. Their is no config setting f.i. you can change to get that.

    My advise, wait a bit till I am ready to release the UI. I hope this will be within the coming week, or the week after at the latest.

    Funny i had the same talk with Marco Wedesday about that message centre, and how annoying it is haha.
    I have switched it off.

  4. I'd like to be able to get rid of the useless info- like quit/join messages and stuff like that. There really needs to be a filter so that during a race you only see RACE info and chats from other drivers.

    I believe I saw a setting for that somewhere, but can't remember where I saw it ;)

    Have to look for that. Will do so later on. Please be so kind to remember me to this if I don't get back on it ok ;) Have a lot on my mind lately.

  6. I've seen the setting to disable the message center- but then I don't know when the pit stops are over and there's other pertinent info that isn't displayed. It's all or nothing. If you know of a setting- THANK YOU.

    Took a bit longer then expected, but here is the answer ;)

    If you open up the Multiplayer.ini file, located in your data dir of the install, under userdata/playername, look for the line;
    Leave/Join Messages="3" // 0=none 1=in-car 2=monitor 3=both

    Change it to the appropriate value to what you want (I recomment 0 or 2, not 1 or 3.
